Walk a little slower, Daddy

Gift Idea for Father
“Walk a little slower, Daddy”,
Said a little child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps,
And I don’t want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I’m all grown up,
You’re what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who’ll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.”

We all grew up wanting to be like our dad. We loved everything about him. How he drove the car. How he walked. How he talked. How he laughed. How he kissed us goodnight. How he carried us in their arms when we cried. How he used to lift us in air and we used to have butterflies in stomach.... and more.

Remember, he never gave an excuse of short-time when you wanted him to be there for you. Do you really think you are so busy that you can't take off a few days just to be with your superhero? Nah! There would never be anything which could fully explain how much he means to you, except spending some quality time with him. After all, that's what parents seek; their children's time.

So, this time on your father's birthday if you want to gift him something, don't gift him some 'thing'. Gift him your time. Take him on a vacation with you.

You can go on a long drive, and go fishing. Or you can go to nearby waterfall for a picnic with him and mom. Or if you have some more time, take him on a tour for a week or so. You can go to some neighboring city or perhaps even another country as your pocket allows. The place doesn't matter so much. What matters more is the two people here. You and your dad!

Pack your bags with clothes, ready-to-eat food, sneakers, hats, camera and fly away. It's time for fun again.
